Rappahannock Electric Cooperative

REC is a member-owned utility that provides electric service to more than 157,000 connections in portions of 22 Virginia counties. Serving as the lead designer for The Flores Shop on this project, we were tasked with creating a website that was responsive, easy to use and beautiful, while effectively displaying over 90 pages of information.

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative Responsive UI Design

The navigation is four levels deep which for a responsive site was pretty tricky to plan. Caitlyn Mayers and I planned the architecture of the site starting with the mobile interface and then moved to desktop. We also had to account for REC's third party account software and planning a residential and commercial version of the site. After much research and planning, I created the UI design using the current REC brand. This was a lesson in it doesn't matter how pretty the site is, if it doesn't work. We worked very hard to make this site do both.
